Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have learned a lot from his Manchester United team on Thursday night.

It comes after a 3-2 win over Sheffield United where his side came from behind yet again to claim all three points.

The Red Devils went above Chelsea into sixth and still have a game in hand on the Blues.

If they win that as well, they will be just two points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

It is a remarkable turn of events given the pressure Solskjaer was under through the season.

And the Norweigan knows he can count on some of his big-name players going forward, while also being let down by one or two others.

Paul Pogba

The Frenchman has had a sudden revival in the United team, almost spurred on by Mino Raiola's comments last week.

It was revealed by his agent that his career at Old Trafford "was over" but since then, Pogba has flourished.

And he was in fine form against the Blades, playing an array of spectacular passes – including a telepathic assist for Anthony Martial, who was also brilliant…

Anthony Martial

As mentioned, the forward recaptured his form in front of goal – something Solskjaer will be over the moon to see.

Martial has had a tough time so far but tonight he scored to boost his confidence.

And at a time when United are facing fixtures thick and fast, having all their attackers in full force should worry the other teams in the Premier League.

Dean Henderson

On the other hand, Henderson has given Solskjaer reason not to trust him going forward.

Given a rare outing, the Englishman was given a chance to shine against the team he spent two years on loan.

But David de Gea will rest easy after Henderson conceded in the opening exchanges after a shocking lapse of concentration after failing to deal with a backpass.

With Pogba's ongoing situation and Bruno Fernandes in need of a rest, it still was not enough for Van de Beek to earn a start.

He came on with 10 minutes to go and gave a good account for himself but his status as a benchwarmer now looks solidified.

It will not be what the Dutchman signed up for in the summer, when he joined from Ajax for £40m.
