The saga is over – for now: Harry Kane announced on August 25 that he would be staying at Tottenham this summer after failed Man City bids.

Adama Traore – Tottenham’s Hotspur’s bid to sign Traore has suffered a blow with Wolverhampton Wanderers standing firm in their desire to keep the winger (The Daily Telegraph, August 27); Tottenham are in talks with Wolves over a potential deal for Traore (The Guardian, August 24); Tottenham’s new director of football Fabio Paratici might not be in position to sign a new striker as well as potential wing target Traore (Daily Express, August 24); Wolves are braced for an approach from Tottenham for the £45m star if Kane joins Man City before the end of the transfer window (Daily Mail, August 19).

Luis Diaz – Chelsea and Tottenham are battling for the signature of Porto’s £30m-rated Colombia international striker, who was joint top-scorer at Copa America this summer (The Sun, August 25).

Pape Matar Sarr – Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign the exciting Metz midfielder for a fee in the region of £14.6m plus add-ons (Sky Sports, August 24)

Cristiano Ronaldo – Tottenham has emerged as a potential destination for Cristiano Ronaldo if he does end up leaving Juventus this summer, according to reports in Italy (Daily Express, August 23).

Noni Madueke – PSV Eindhoven have told Tottenham it will cost them £40m to re-sign Madueke – two years after the England U21 international left them for nothing (Sunday Mirror, August 22).

The latest players linked with a Tottenham exit

Tottenham are willing to sell a number of their first-team players this summer in order to help fund their rebuild of the squad, including Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko.

Toby Alderweireld, Erik Lamela and Juan Foyth have already been sold to help fund the arrivals of Pierluigi Gollini and winger Bryan Gil.
