Arsenal to swoop for Buendia

Arsenal are said to be weighing up a move for Emi Buendia as Mikel Arteta looks to add more creativity to his squad.

The Norwich star has scored seven goals and laid on seven assists so far this season for the Championship table-toppers.

The Gunners are prepared to offer either Joe Willock or Reiss Nelson as part of a swap deal, according toThe Independent , and may be prepared to allow Buendia to stay on loan at Carrow Road until the end of the season.

Daily Star says: 8/10 – Norwich won't want to let Buendia go, but if they can get a good price and keep him on loan until the summer they may feel they can't stand in his way.

Man Utd to switch focus to Haaland

Manchester United are ready to drop their interest in Jadon Sancho and instead pursue Erling Haaland.

United are turning their focus back towards Haaland amid his Borussia Dortmund team-mate's dip in form this season, according to The Mirror.

Reports have claimed the striker has a £70m release clause which can be activated at the end of next season.

Daily Star says: 7/10 – Haaland knows all about Solskjaer's interest in him, and if United keep improving the idea of a move to Old Trafford will be increasingly attractive.

Rumours we don't rate

Shevchenko eyed as Lampard replacement

  • Jamie Carragher offers honest verdict on Steven Gerrard replacing Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool

Andriy Shevchenko has been touted as a potential replacement for Frank Lampard should Roman Abramovich lose patience with the Chelsea boss.

French outlet  Le10 Sport  claims the Ukraine boss, who failed to hit the heights at Stamford Bridge as a player, is on a list of targets being discussed by the Blues hierarchy.

Shevchenko – whose son Kristen plays for Chelsea's academy – has been manager of Ukraine since 2016 and led them to Euro 2020 qualification.

Daily Star says: 4/10 – Shevchenko has an impressive record as Ukraine boss but if Lampard gets the boot, Abramovich will want a manager experienced at the top level.

Van de Beek to 'pack his bags'

  • Sporting fan makes passionate plea to Man Utd after Pedro Goncalves transfer link

Donny van de Beek has been told he should 'pack his bags straightaway' if he doesn't feature for Manchester United against Man City in Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final.

Van de Beek has made just two Premier League starts since joining United in the summer.

Dutch publication De Telegraaf has outlined fears he may miss out on Holland's squad for the Euro 2020 finals if he doesn't get more game time – and urged him to consider leaving in the January transfer window.

Daily Star says: 3/10 – Van de Beek needs time to settle in at United – and he will doubtless be called upon more as United target top spot in the Premier League as well as Europa League glory.
