‘We beat you 3-1 before as well!’: Marcus Rashford jokes about with kid who supports Manchester United’s rivals during interview session with children… after the young fan pointed out his side had beaten them recently!
- Marcus Rashford was recently grilled by a room full of children for an interview
- One City supporter in the room asked him a series of questions about his club
- They ended up having a hilarious back and forth about Manchester City
Marcus Rashford was left jokingly arguing with a young Manchester City fan in a question and answer session with children.
The Manchester United striker was the star turn as a group of kids, who are on the cusp of joining sides in the city, sat in a room and were given the chance to grill a Premier League player.
But one young fan of a blue persuasion took the opportunity to ask a series of hilarious questions.
Marcus Rashford was grilled by a room full of children as part of an interview on BT Sport
Rashford was asked about losing 3-1 to Manchester City and responded in kind to the kid
After a few questions about Rashford’s life, the young City fan stuck up his hand to ask a question.
In a video produced by BT Sport, he said: ‘Can you believe Man City beat Man Utd 3-1?’
Rashford immediately laughed and responded: ‘Well we beat you 3-1 before as well!’
The kid hilariously replied: ‘Why do you not like Man City?’
And Rashford gave him a detailed reply, commenting: ‘No, I don’t not like Man City. It’s obviously difficult because there are people in my family that support City and it’s just one of those things where when we’re speaking about football we don’t get into that.
The City supporter seemed unhappy with Rashford’s response and asked him another question
‘I was always a United fan so as soon as I knew that United wanted me to go and train there that was the end of it basically.
‘I just went there like you are about to do now and fell in love with the club from then.’
The 22-year-old also clarified he was not happy to see City hit with a two-year European ban: ‘No, I have friends that play for City so it’s not nice to see it happen to them.’
He also suggested that they were ‘lucky’ to have a ‘top manager’ like Pep Guardiola.
Relive Manchester United’s best European moments, including their unforgettable victory against Bayern Munich in the 1998-99 Champions League final, this Sunday on BT Sport 1 from 18:30.
Rashford was full of praise for City boss Pep Guardiola, claiming they were ‘lucky’ to have him
My mum always nags me to make my bed, does your mum always nag you?
She used to. But just make sure you make it then you’re not going to get told off.
I’ve heard Jesse Lingard is better at Call of Duty than you, is that true?
No, no way. Who told you that?
What’s your favourite celebration?
Can you believe Man City beat Man Utd 3-1?
Well we beat you 3-1 before as well.
Why do you not like Man City?
No, I don’t not like Man City. It’s obviously difficult because there are people in my family that support City and it’s just one of those things where when we’re speaking about football we don’t get into that. I was always a United fan so as soon as I knew that United wanted me to go and train there that was the end of it basically. I just went there like you are about to do now and fell in love with the club from then.
What does it take to be a footballer?
It takes a lot of patience. Everyone from the outside looking in thinks that it’s a plain and simple journey but you can’t take anything personally. Just remember that the people around you are the ones trying to help you and then once you get your opportunity make sure you take it because at the big clubs you don’t know how many opportunities you’re going to get.
When we’ve finished this can you play us all in a match?
I would do but I can’t do at the moment.
On FIFA do you always choose United and England so you can play yourself?
*Laughs* Ermmm. Do you know what, I don’t. Not all the time. It depends on my opponent. Like if I’m playing my brothers I pick a weaker team and let them be a better team just so it’s more embarrasing for them.
Have you got a six pack?
No! But I’m trying…
Is it true you bite your nails?
Yeah. It’s a bad habit. I’m trying to stop.
Were you happy when City got banned from Europe for two years?
No, I have friends that play for City so it’s not nice to see it happen to them.
Do you think Pep’s going to get sacked?
Ooooh, that’s a tough question. No, Pep’s a top manager. I think City are lucky to have a manager like him.
