England fans are fearing what lies ahead at the World Cup, with the Three Lions now having gone 450 minutes and counting without scoring a goal from open play.
Gareth Southgate's side drew a blank, again, against Italy in a dismal 1-0 defeat on Friday evening as they were relegated in the Nations League. England's last goal from open play came from Tyrone Mings – who netted against Ivory Coast in the 93rd minute back in March.
Since then, England have played Italy and Hungary twice as well as one clash against Germany. Harry Kane did score against Germany, but his goal came from the penalty spot rather than open play.

One Three Lions fan fumed on Twitter: "450 minutes and no goals in open play with multiple world-class Premier League footballers at his disposal is a record that’s almost impressive in its sheer awfulness. He has to go tonight."
"No goal in 450 minutes of open play, can’t defend that with the players we have that’s a disgrace," another added. While a third fumed: "Not scored from open play in 450 minutes, might help if the CF stayed up front and got in the f***ing box."
And one fan pointed out: "Out of the 450 minutes England have gone without scoring their most creative player, Trent Alexander-Arnold has played 63."

A final supporter bleakly summarised with: "Poor team selection. Little invention and creativity. No pace or incisive passing. We’ve always got a mistake in us so have to score some goals which seems impossible at this level at the moment. World Cup chances. Zero."
England are also now winless in their last five games, their worst run since under Roy Hodgson in 2014.
The Three Lions' last competitive win came in November last year when Southgate's side smashed San Marino 10-0.
