The world's "sexiest referee" has celebrated the appointment of Polish officials for the World Cup final in Qatar.
Karolina Bojar-Stefanska took to Instagram to react to the news that her compatriot Szymon Marciniak will lead the refereeing team for Sunday's contest between Argentina and France. The 25-year-old official has gained fans thanks to her striking appearance and refereeing ability, taking charge in Poland's Central Youth League, as well as working as a lawyer and competing as a runner.
She shared an image of the officiating team to her 170,000 Instagram followers and wrote: “Proud! On Sunday we all keep our fingers crossed for Simon and his team.”

The news Marciniak has been appointed as the referee has also been confirmed by the Polish Football Association, making him the first Pole to take charge of the World Cup final.
It will be the third match he has taken charge of in Qatar, following France's group stage win over Denmark and Argentina's victory against Australia in the round of 16. He will be assisted by fellow Polish officials Pawel Sokolnick and Tomasz Listkiewicz for the match.

Meanwhile, another Pole in the shape of Tomasz Kwiatkowski is the chief VAR official. The rest of the officiating team consists of two Americans, as well as officials from both Venezuela and Mexico.
Speaking via FIFA.com, Marciniak explained: “Being the referee in a World Cup final…it’s unbelievable, to be honest. I’m very proud of myself and my team because, of course, it’s not only Szymon Marciniak, it’s a great team.
“We’ve been working since forever and we are like family: we win together, we lose together sometimes.”
Marciniak, 41, who began his refereeing career in 2002, has previously officiated at the 2016 European Championship and the last World Cup in Russia four years ago.
The match will be the 11th final he has taken charge of, with his previous appearances including the 2018 UEFA Super Cup between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
