Zinedine Zidane has snubbed his former teammate Thierry Henry by naming Karim Benzema as the greatest French striker ever.
The Real Madrid boss had the pleasure of playing alongside Henry in France's World Cup and European Championship winning teams of 1998-2000.
But in his view the former Arsenal legend is no match for his Los Blancos frontman Benzema.
Zidane hailed his No.9 following Benzema's decisive brace against Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday night.
"[Benzema] is the best," Zidane said. "Without playing a really good game today, he scored twice again.
"He always shows up, that's what the great players do."
Asked whether Benzema is the greatest forward produced from his homeland, Zidane replied: "For me, yes.
"He shows it with what he's doing. He's played at Real Madrid for a long time, more than 500 games.
"His goals, his trophies, what he's done, they speak for themselves. For me he's the best, yes, it's clear."
Benzema has now been plying his trade at Madrid for over a decade, during which time he has won four Champions League titles, as well as La Liga three times, among a total haul of 18 major trophies.

He now sits fourth on Madrid's all-time scoring list, and is closing in on club legend Alfredo di Stefano, who is seven goals ahead in third place.
Zidane has overseen many of Benzema's successes, and feels the forward brings so much more to his team than meets the eye.
"He isn't a pure No9, only thinking about goals. That's why I love him," Zidane added.
"He doesn't only have that in his head. He links up, passes to teammates.
"That's what I like in football, and he has both things."
Who is the best French striker of all time? Have your say below.
Despite Benzema's impressive goalscoring record at club level, he has not played for the France national team since 2015.
He was frozen out of the international squad due to accusations he blackmailed ex-teammate Mathieu Valbuena over an alleged sex tape – claims which he vehemently denies.
It is perhaps as a result that he ranks only 10th on his country's all-time charts in terms of goals – a list topped by Henry, who has almost double Benzema's tally.
