One of the most interesting horses running at Goulburn would have to be Inzaghi for new trainer Louise Dean.
The Kembla Grange trainer bought the former Anthony Freedman-trained runner at an Inglis online sale for $27,500.
“We thought that was cheap enough,” Dean said.
He comes to her as a 10-start maiden but has placed on six occasions ahead of his Maiden Plate (1000m) on Friday.
“We liked her form,” Dean said. “She’s never finished further back than fourth. We haven’t talked to the previous stable but she’s sound.

“By the time she got to our place she’d been off the track for a month so we started from scratch with her. The only query would be a wet track.”
Dean hasn’t trialled or jumped out the Sizzling four-year-old but insists she’s ready to run a bold race while she learns about her. The engagement of Group 1-winning jockey Adam Hyeronimus will no doubt give Inzaghi an even better chance.
“She’s a nippy little thing,” Dean said. “She’s as fit as we can get her. She’s not very big and she had plenty of meat of her when we got her but she’s trimmed it off.
“Everything she does is positive and she’s a lovely mare to handle and ride but everything’s done at 100 miles an hour so we’ll see how she goes. We’ve put Adam on her because he’s ridden successfully for us in the past on horses that roll forward.”

Myprayer also runs for Dean, in a Class 2 Handicap (1500m) and he’s going a bit better than what his form reads on paper.
“He got held up twice last start and he’s the sort of horse that can’t stop and start. He needs to keep going,” Dean said.
“On his day, he can gallop. Everything just needs to fall into place with him and we’ve decided to run him over more ground which he’s won over before.
“He’s got to have the speed on and be free-running.”
